2 battle rifles from belgium i did serve 39 years ago and this was my weapon along with the vingeron smg fn herstal makes awesome weapons and i also love the ar scar 17 deadly like the fn fal .

your G3 is the same with the original.... i know that weapon really well cause my country uses it in our millitary.... and every one knows how to clean it in 3 minutes :) ... nice rifle but when the burrel gets hot you need lots of luck to actually hit somthing.... and when i say hot i ment hot as hell not just normal hot... try to shot 3 magazines on fully auto and then try to shot 1 by 1 and you gonna see :)

I am from the UK and used the FN. FAL. ie. SLR in action in Aden 1965. Yea I'm an old guy, but when the sh1t hits the fan it will pump out the rounds magazine after magazine. On testing on open ground in seriously high temperatures it proves to be very accurate firing on semi auto with iron sights. Great gun, served me well in my time of serious need.

We had the G3 in the Danish army when I served back in the 90's. The rifles were old and worn out and unreliable as f**k. In the late 90's they were replaced with the Diemaco C7.

I have used the G3 extensively over many years in the Norwegian Army. First as a conscript in the early 90s, then as a reservist for about 20 years, until I served 3,5 years in the Home Guard QRF with the newer HK 416 before I retired in 2014. I have also tried the FN-FAL. Out of these three, I liked the FAL the most. The 7,62 round gives it a kick I really like and it has a tighter feel than the G3. The G3 is extremely solid, though. Sand, snow, or water, it still shoots great. The 416 is a different rifle than these two oldies. Much more accurate, but way more complicated. Yet I might buy the civilian 416 someday. $3000 is quite expensive, though. Unfortunately, G3s and FN-FALs are not for sale in Norway.

I would go for the G3 all day long. Served as a conscript in 1997 and had a wooden version from 1959 that shot very accurate. Later I got the G36. That was better during an exercise as it was lighter and you could carry it like a rucksack, but it was like a toy compared to the G3

Why didn't you mention the hk91 308, this rifle is currently being used in battle in. the Ukraine . It can go semi or full auto it comes with a 50 round barrel clip. You can throw this rifle off a cliff go down to get it and it will be ready for combat even in water , snow ,mud it doesn't matter nothing can stop these guns.

is no one going to mention that because an AK fires a 7.62x39 Russian it is considered a full-length cartridge? it may just be because I'm a Russian fanboy but an SKS, AKM/AK-47, or even an AK-15 would have been very nice rifles to put on the list. too many western rifles, not enough love for Asian or Slavic weapons.

1968 I carried an M14 US ARMY. Been shooting since I was 8 yrs old. Most accurate weapon I ever used. It was not good for jungles and was heavy, ammo also. Also it didn't jam as easy as the M16.

I got to fire an M-14 a few years ago at the NRA Range in Fairfax, VA and I was impressed. The recoil was not as severe as I expected .... though that was on semi. But in the field I can imagine the issues with the weight of it and the ammo being an issue for regular infantry. Still, I can see how it was use in some sniper applications as well as for the Squad Designated Marksman role. That 7.62 will carry out and deliver a punch
The FAL - a buddy of mine got a Para model from DSA a while back.
Gotta be honest ...... I was UNIMPRESSED.
No doubt it is a tough and durable beast. But the stock sights on the Para model are atrocious in my opinion. I don't see how an regular infantryman/paratrooper could accurately engage targets at even 100 yards, much less on out to 200 or 300.

Spanish CETME C is greater than the FAL and G3. The HK G3 was after the CETME C and claimed to be an improved rifle yet the CETME C can interchange and use the Majority of G3 parts but the G3 cant not do the same with the CETME C

According to Bloke on the Range, the "winter trigger" isn't actually a winter trigger at all, but a rifle grenade trigger, so that your finger isn't inside the trigger guard to get broken when the rifle recoils massively after firing a rifle grenade.

The G3 handles mud much better than the FAL.

I would have mentioned the M16 A4 instead of the Sig.
I mean, i know those are very different cartridges, and Stg is very accurate but that’s the end.
Stg has no field history, finish is very delicate, the system is generally not friendly with dust, it’s a bulky and heavy gun, bipod is too high cause the magazine is too long to lay flat on the ground fatiguing shooter over long prone sessions, ergonomics are far from great.
So i would have gone with M16A4 over Sth imho

The M-14 i think it's the best. The 10 yr. service was politically dont get me wrong i love AR'S i own 3 but pass 400 yards u really need a little more power.The only reason i don't own one is because they cost so much 1600 hundread dollars, give me a break just to dam high...but i love AR'S. The FAL was almost our military rifle but that's another story, also politically...
