sounds like a very complicated and unnecessary process, and set of laws. while some good points are there,( silencers, SBRs and import what you want) it takes too long and is very unnecessary with the regulations and licenses. and why, why license ammo. and what if you want to collect different caliber cartridges? As a Texan watching this video, it seems that although the process of actually buying a firearm in South Africa seems extremely tedious, your firearms laws have less strange arbitrary rules and guidelines than we have here stateside. This video makes it seem much easier than it is. I waited 7 months for my competency and have been waiting 7 months for my license, still not approved. Have friends that have waited 2 years for their firearm. Absolutely ridiculous licensing system. Also, you have to motivate why you need a firearm, and there are no set standards for this motivation, two different people can hand in the same motivation, one can get approved the other refused. If you are refused, appeal will take 6-8 months or re-apply and wait another 6-8 months
