Advice at the 12:38 point, is very wise advice. About 20 years ago, I'm doing service calls in downtown K.C.MO. This City Of Chillicothe, ,MO. van cuts across two lanes to make an illegal left turn in front of me, and hit my corner bumper with his drivers side door. He leaves a little paint on my bumper that I figure I can easily buff out, but the bumper puts a decent dent in his door. He's all freaked out and apologizing. He says its his fault, and he's not familiar with K.C. Downtown streets and how they work, and he's worried about getting a ticket. I say," hey dude, no harm no foul on my car, I can buff that out", just go on down the road so you don't get ticketed for making an illegal left turn. Next day while I'm going into the K.C.MO. Police dept. to do a service call, my insurance agent calls and says we're getting hit with a claim against us by the City of Chillicothe. The scumbag and his co-worker decided on their drive back to their City, that they'd concoct a B.S. lie against me. They say they were parked and eating lunch in the van, and that I hit it. I call his boss, and tell him the straight scoop, he tells me tough, he doesn't care, and hangs up on me. I call my, and their insurance, and file an official report of insurance fraud against them, the whole time not letting them know that a co-worker of mine witnessed the whole thing. The filthy punks didn't know that I had just dropped off a part to the co-worker and the he saw it all. I wanted to see how far they'd take their fraud. After my co-worker called them, and gave his eyewitness account, Their insurance withdrew the claim against me and apologized. No word if the slime got to keep their jobs or not with the City.
