How to win a gun fight? Shoot first.

Never quit, assess the situation, decide to fight or flee, dont lose the upper hand, dont fight fair in a knuckle fight, learn the pressure points on the body, smash his instep, knee 'em in the balls , do a carotid artery chop, gouge em in the eyes. Staying calm and confident in any encounter always gives you the advantage.

Don't walk into an ambush , send scouts out for intel. Then plan your objectives carefully know your enemys strenth. Plan an e xit just in case, meat at a rondivoo point replan. Better to call in a bombing strike and save your men. Best to avoid a gun fight beware of being out flank or pin down. Remember, you only die once in a fire fight. It don't last long with todays weapons.

Being AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS, will keep you out of 95% of problems. The remaining 5% is the " Fate Factor ", through no fault of your own, you are put in a situation that may be life, or death. That is what all of the training in firearms, martial arts, and any other stuff I did not mention, is all about, that 5%. Most people go through life, and never have another person shoot at them, pull a knife to kill them, or threaten their life in any way BUT, we train, and practice just in case we are some where in that 5%, and it is always a good thing to know how to defend yourself should the situation arise.

I left USMC and eventually became an executive in Silicon Valley- I wish there were more content out there that focuses on how we are able to go to war, work hard and become a successful civilian. Too many movies and shows out there that portray us a broken people who do weird things or are homeless beggars. Even the successful Punisher TV series makes vets look insane. Our nation has a history of us going to war coming back and being highly successful. We had substantial improvements to our nation post WW2- many of them by leaders in congress and politics in general that make a difference. Anyhow, good series, great representation of squared away military types.
